100% Chardonnay from the Premier Cru vineyards in Vertus and Villeneuve.
Vinification 50% in steel tank, 50% in oak barrels of 400L.
Unique vintage with 20% of vin de reserve, 36 month on yeasts create a very fresh and mineral Champagne Brut Nature.
Dosage zero.
Color : Pale yellow with active bubble trains and light foam.
Nose : First nose pointed and lemony. Mineral with hints of fresh herbs. Then a fresher mint appears with tips of citrus.
Mouth : A sharp and tense attack before releasing its freshness and lightness. Then a firm and mineral footprint, a sign of righteousness, youth and firmness.
About the Domaine:
The majority of the vines are planted in the terroir of le Mesnil sur Oger, classified Grand Cru, Blanc de Blancs. Well-know for his vineyard excellence, this village only hosts grapes of Chardonnay, what confers to his wines delicacy and elegance. They also benefit of vineyard in terroirs of Oger and Avize, Grands Crus of Côte des Blancs. To complete the domain, a part of the vines are planted in the terroirs of surrounding villages, Vertus and Villeneuve, Premier Cru.
In JL Vergnon, they only grow vines of Chardonnay, blending more of 20 parcels. Planted in majority with old vines of over 30 years on average, various exposure in order to reach this evenness in our Champagnes.
With the desire of preserving the nature and the environment, they promote a sustainable viticulture in the vineyard. Herbicids haven't used in the last 15 years, the grass is free in the parcels, chemical treatments very are limited.
